What is the Office for International Students?
The Office for International Students is an autonomous office of the General Student Committee (AStA) at Heinrich Heine University, whose representatives are directly elected and legitimized by international students in the election general assembly. The representatives have the task of actively taking care of the concerns and interests of the international students at HHU.

Who are international students?
International students include all students who come from abroad for a short-term or long-term stay to study at Heinrich Heine University, as well as students with a migration background.

What do we do?
We represent the interests of international students at Heinrich Heine University. The primary goal of the office is to provide the best possible support to international students already enrolled at HHU during their studies. With a network of internal university bodies and external institutions in the city of Düsseldorf, we find the right points of contact for the concerns of international students. At the same time, we actively support international students by accompanying them on official appointments to overcome language barriers. Unfortunately, direct interaction with the immigration office or other authorities is not possible on our part, but we always do our best to support the students.

The Office for International Students also organizes various events on the campus of Heinrich Heine University to make it easier for international students to settle in and integrate into the university and the city of Düsseldorf.
